I'd also like to point out that we won't have a separate engineer during shows. We need a set-and-forget solution. Is doing this during gigs too ambitious?Edit: We ended up getting a Mackie Onyx firewire board. Easy setup, and it lets you send multitrack audio to a computer while also mixing for the PA. Changed cable, changed the FW 800 to 400 adapter plug - got frustrated so decided finally to go back to my original G5 and MOTU set up to make sure everything was still running.Of course that too had ceased to work even though all was running beautifully only 15 minutes previously.The only thing I can think has happened is MOTU didn't appreciate the FW cables being swapped whilst it was still switched on?Anyway having suffered similar invisible issue with my old MOTU MK 2 I followed tried and tested process of resetting factory defaults, losing all MOTU references in my user and library preferences followed by reinstall of latest drivers.Only this time unlike my MK 2 the MK 3 is still sitting silently and neither mac recognizes it's existence.So I'm hoping some one out there has come across this kind of problem with the MOTU MK3 and can point me in a direction that means I have audio to work with over next weekYep it is frustrating because it will always happen when you least need it too. I unplugged FW cable from G5 to 828 and swapped with laptop FW cable but MOTU wasn't found. I'm working away over next few weeks so needed to test same 828 with Macbook pro lap top running identical set up. Been successfully running 828 mk3 with Logic 9 for months on G5 intel Mac Pro. To access the rest of the Traveler-mk3 clock source, but to access all of the Traveler-mk3 settings, open MOTU Audio Setup.How do we go about feeding audio both into the board and the audio interface? The only outs from the board are stereo pairs, but there are six 1/4" channel inserts.
Took out of the box, installed the last driver from the website in a 10.5.8 system. It's kicked off on my machines in different ways so it's not that I can offer any advise as to what not to do to avoid the problem occurring.If and when I get to the bottom of this current breakdown I will post MOTU's diagnosis on how it happened so as to help others from hopefully facing the same problem.Borismann wrote:Same problem here. Despite that, this is not an acceptable workaround.Tried on MB and MBP and nothing turn out.I'm in conctact with the tech suport but i think it can be a damaged unit.I had the same experience with a new 828 Mk3 last week.
So it looks more and more like a hardware issue for me. Again my 8pre is found ok but still no 828mk3. Then I reinstalled the 1.4.23 version.
